Please review these procedures if you plan to fly in the aerobatic box at Tara Field (4A7). Follow the limitations and requirements of the waiver, and please observe the suggestions listed below in an effort to maintain good relations with the airport and community. The complete Certificate of Waiver is available here, including Special Provisions attached to the FAA Form 7711-1. There is also a "practice packet" available for download. This is a compressed folder (accessible with Windows ME, 2000, or XP or a third-party "Zip" program such as Winzip) containing all the documents required for a practice session. A. Call Flight Service at 1-800-443-9285 at least one hour before and not more than three days before you intend to use the box and advise them of the aerobatic activity.
a. Issue a NOTAM for Runway 24 to use right-hand traffic while the practice area is active.
b. If you need part A and B, request a NOTAM "D" be issued to activate the Waivered Aerobatic Practice Airspace at Clayton County, Hampton GA (4A7) from 300 feet to 3500 feet AGL on <date> from <start time> until <end time>.
c. If you need only part B active, the altitudes are 1500 feet to 3500 feet AGL.
B. Not less than 30 minutes prior to using the box, call Atlanta Approach Control Shift Supervisor at 678-364-6103 and inform them that you will be activating the box. They may ask for altitudes and box location.
A. Download and print the waiver in its entirety, including:
a. The Certificate of Waiver and
B. Have a copy of the waiver at Tara Field while the box is in use.
C. Make sure every pilot who flies in the box is a member of Chapter 3 and has signed the Sign-up Sheet for that day's activity.
Begin advising traffic in the pattern and vicinity of Tara field (122.725) that the aerobatic box will be in use. Traffic patterns will be NORTHWEST of the runway, which means that traffic on Runway 24 should use RIGHT traffic.
Call the Atlanta Approach Control Shift Supervisor and deactivate the box.
